Job Description
Takes full ownership of research data governance inside our Trusted Research Environment (TRE), responsible for –- Migrating our existing on-premises research databases and legacy systems to a secure on-premises TRE or cloud platform
- Identifying and properly archiving data that must be preserved for decades (longitudinal cohorts, biospecimen records, historical studies, etc.)
- Applying and improving the Data Federated systems in health care research
- Managing the software tools and applications systematically to support other teams
- Managing the users’ requests for data sharing
What You Will Do
- Own and keep updating our Research Data Management policies, SOPs, and governance framework (ICMR, DPDP Act 2023, FAIR principles)
- Classify all datasets by sensitivity and archival value and maintain a clean central data catalogue
- Lead the full migration of on-premises databases to a TRE environment, and/or cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) with zero data loss and full audit trail
- Design practical data pipelines and ETL processes that researchers can actually use
- Convert old data formats into open, future-proof standards suitable for perpetual archiving
- Implement strong data governance controls and ensure every data share meets ethics and regulatory requirements
- Build the server TRE architecture up to-date with technology feasibility for multiple research programmes
- Building and Managing the Data federated systems and to meet compliance with national data protection laws. Specific to user tracking, management, traceability, and security
- Process the data sharing request by the research stakeholders
- Setting up the automated tools to manage the software and applications relevant to research
- Managing the software version controls centrally in the TRE environment
- Setting up the job managing protocol in the TRE environment and troubleshooting the instance for disaster recovery (Data and Systems)
- Identify data that must be preserved permanently and set up proper digital preservation processes
- Train our research teams on good data practices and help write Data Management Plans for grants
Who We’re Looking For
Education: Master’s degree (M.Tech/MCA) or Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech / BE) in the field of Computer Science, Data Science, and Information Technology background with experience in health care industry and data systems is a big plus. Preference to the candidate who has worked on these roles in the previous stint (Enterprise system engineers, Enterprise Architecture, Big Data Technology consultants, Big Data Engineers)
